IB Diploma Programme IB programme

After GCSEs. Six subjects (three at Higher Level, three at Standard Level), including your own language, a second language, maths and a science, plus the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and CAS (creativity, activity, service). Scored out of 45 points and widely recognised by universities. The government is withdrawing additional funding for the IB Diploma in state schools from 2026–27, so some state schools may stop offering it. Always check with the school.
