- With GCSEs: No specific subjects required. Helpful: Maths, Geography, Design & Technology. Typical: Usually five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, often including English and maths; colleges set their own requirements.

- Chartered surveyor: Manages the cost, condition or value of buildings and property: quantity, building or real estate surveying.
- Construction site manager: Runs building sites: people, safety, schedules and quality.
- Town planner: Decides how land and places are used and developed.
- Architect: Designs buildings and spaces and sees them through construction.
